Sweat stains 101: Yellowing.

Underarm stains are more common than you think — and easier to prevent than you might realise.

Sweat stains don’t happen overnight. Yellow sweat stains are a slow build-up of proteins, natural body oils. Mixed with deodorant salts that oxidise during the day, turns our underarms into a yellow problem area that overtime will turn crusty and remain for the rest of your days.

The trick is to treat early after every wear. Regular pre-treatment of underarm areas keeps build-up and the yellow crusty residue from forming.

  1. Spray Truly. twice under each arm pit and across the collar.
  2. Wash in warm water afterwards (as the fabric allows) with a quality detergent.
  3. If it’s too late and crusty monster has already got you, spray Truly. generously and agitate using Truly’s agitation tool. This will help breakdown it down - agitate until you see the yellowing lift.
  4. Air dry.

For stubborn stains a second or third spray and agitation may be required.

Prevention is key. Consistent care is far more effective than trying to reverse years of build-up in one treatment and wash.

Expert tip: Regular attention after every wear is a must to prevents under arm yellowing before it starts.
